Platinum Wedding bands Jewelry is 95% Platinum, Gold comes in a variety of mixtures. The most common Wedding bands are 14kt (58.3% gold), and 18kt (75% gold). 24kt (100% gold) is too soft to use for some jewelry. Gold is yellow. There is no such thing as natural White Gold. Gold is made to look white by alloying (mixing) it with white metals, then plating the wedding band with Rhodium.

Then there is another metal for your wedding rings. Palladium is a hypoallergenic metal & minimizes the possibility of an allergic response. Platinum and palladium are the only hypoallergenic precious metals.
